Just a quickie
The other day, P was asking about Baby Beau and I told him that soon he would be able to feel him kick my belly. P looked at me with those expressive eyes and asked me if Beau was going to be a naughty boy (because he was kicking his mommy).

Just an average commute
R and I were on our way to work this morning with the kids. P wanted me to turn on a different song and I was enjoying the one that was playing so I was ignoring the rants and raves coming from the backseat. I was just about to turn up the radio (hand on knob) when a cup came flying from the backseat and landed on my shoulder AND STAYED THERE!! It was a perfect balance and the little beast had perfect aim. I am perfectly aware how dangerous that could have been but all is well ends well and R and I could not stop laughing.

Kiddie Update
This week we had Baby Beau's 'end of first trimester' ultrasound. AMAZING!! He is doing great! Opening and closing his mouth, clapping his little hands in front of his face, moving, moving, moving! No genital peaks! We were hoping to catch a little glimpse but the legs were crossed! When we had P's early ultrasound, he gave us full view and they said 90% he was a boy! Little Beau is making us wait to sneak a peak! Again, to clear the air, we could care less the sex of the baby BUT we really are just excited to know!!
The development that takes place in the first 12 weeks just amazes me more and more with each pregnancy. It seems like yesterday that we found out we were blessed with another!!
P is very excited about having another sibling and A is teetering on clueless when it come to what is rapidly growing in my uterus! I know they will both be very happy with the end result in November!
P is doing FABULOUS with potty training!! He really holds it and is so proud of himself! We are equally proud of him and are excited about checking size 6 diapers off the grocery list. I am also secretly (or not so secretly) glad that when the potty training topic comes up at his 3 year at the end of the summer, I can say he perfected it in early May!! Yippeee!!!
A started saying, 'I love you' very clearly this morning. Of all the things she says, to hear those words are beyond amazing!! I tried to make her say them later in the day and my eager ears were met with the words, 'NO Mommy!' I guess she will profess her love again when she is good and damn ready!!

A Mother's Day Tale
Actually just a quick story before I put the kids to bed. The other morning I was running errands with the kids, feeling tired, sick and stressed. P was in a 'mood' and kept saying, 'mommy, mommy, mommy, MOMMY, MMMOOOMMMMMMYYY!' Finally I said, ''P, please don't say that name for awhile.' I saw his little face think what I said over and over in his head and then he said, 'ummmmm, Jenny.'
Happy Mother's Day!!
R's aunt was nice enough to send me this card for Mother's Day and it made me laugh so hard that I had to share it with all my cyber-friends!!
Happy Mother's Day to all!! True to the message on the card, I am off to clean the toilets!!
(Forgive the quality of the image - I took a picture of the card with my cell)

Lunch Date?
Why did it take R and I two years to realize we could actually have a lunch date on the two days I am in the office? We never leave the kids UNLESS I am at work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. (I am not complaining at all, this is our own choice). He drops food off for me or we run and grab something and I bring it back to the office but today I was feeling super nauseous and couldn't even think about getting food to go. We ate in Potbelly's and I have to say, it was a fabulous break! We were able to chat and eat at a leisurely pace. While we still prefer dining with the kids, it was a nice break! DOUBLE (TRIPLE??) THANKS TO NONIE!!

Ticking me off
Ahhh, a day of rest, I mean work!! So refreshing to clear my head with some real adult topics but I start to miss the potty talk, nap begging, snack preparing, and most important, the hugs and affection that are thrown in throughout the day! Then I remember that Nonie (and Popi) are getting the hugs and affection and all is well working again....Although - it is an awfully nice day to be stuck indoors in a hot office that doesn't circulate air properly.
Anyway, besides the usual 2 kids and one brewing, 3 dogs and huge family to keep us on our toes, life in general has been keeping us very busy. We have been fortunate enough to meet lots of new neighbors and we are delighted that there are even more kids than originally thought in our new neighborhood!!
Unfortunately, we are not so delighted that there are even more ticks than originally thought as well!! We have already found 8 and before you blame it on the pups, they were groomed and they had none!! They seem to be coming in off the kids after they play outside. So, we tick check like we are camping in the northwoods and we try to stay away from the wooded areas. Lake County is great despite the ticks and taxes!!
