In a house full of toddlers and pets, you can start out having a bad day, but you keep getting detoured.

Candy...

We were sitting in the auto repair shop waiting for our car.....my little lovies shoved two DVD's in the thing. Anyway, there was a box of candy for a fundraiser and P was begging for some. I told him it was for old people. Without missing a beat he asked me if I wanted some.

Nothing like some confidence building!!!

So proud...

We went to the Memorial Day parade this morning. When the vets came by carrying the American Flag, my little P stood up and saluted the flag!

Now for the moment I long for every single day....the lady next to us saw it all and said, "you don't see that respect anymore" and then she asked who taught him that and he replied, "my mommy did!"

Yeah me!! Too bad I didn't take a picture of my little man!

Little boxes...

If you don't watch Weeds, you will have no idea what I am talking about....

We were at the park today and P grabbed my car keys so he could....who knows what he was going to do but not the point. He pointed the little car opener toward where the cars were parked and after looking baffled, he said, "which one is our car?"

I turned to look and laughed out loud when I saw all the same colored minivans and cars....hence the Weeds reference.

Cleaning lady?

Hubby has been working long hours which has left me alone with the kids and house. I can't begin to tell you how much I get done without him around. I am moving like a fine oiled machine!! The last couple weeks, he has been coming home shocked that the usually clean house is immaculate and ridiculously organized.

Anyway, this post is not to pat myself on the back.....He came home yesterday and A (my veeeeeerbal 2 year old) told him (out of the blue) that the cleaning lady comes when he's not home. I could not stop laughing which was making me look guilty as charged despite how far from the truth it was! She carried on to tell him again and again. Oh the imagination!!

Thursday 13

13 Inevitable things that happen living with kids and dogs...

1. When one kids falls asleep, another wakes up

2. In the off chance they are all sleeping, it is inevitable that the doorbell will ring and wake everyone up

3. When one kid has a toy, it suddenly looks desiresble for another one

4. No matter where I am parked in the house, the kids or dogs always manage to stumble over my folded laundry pile

5. Whenever I move an area rug, a dog or kid seem to find it necessary to stand on it...not even on purpose which would somehow make it less annoying

6. If I clean the floors on my hands and knees, it will rain within 36 hours and make muddy paws and feet

7. If I tell someone my kids are healthy, someone will be sick within a couple days

8. If the kids sheets are clean, someone's pull-up will leak that night

9. If I take the carseats out and clean them really good, someone will have an accident the next day

10. If I clean the playroom and sort everything, one of the kids will feel the need to 'dump' toys later the same day

11. If I put toys in the giveaway pile, they suddenly seem fun to play with....even though they weren't touched for months

12. If the kids get a nice new toy, all they want to do is play with the box

13. If I wake up early to have private time, everyone will wake up early that day too AND if we have somewhere to go in the morning, everyone will sleep late
