BaffIing books
When P got mass and a parade confused after Memorial Day last year, I expressed in a blog entry the need to attend mass a bit more frequently than the twice a year parades we attend.
Anyway, I told A to pick out a book and I would read it to her. Coming back with her top pick in hand she said, 'READ THE MONSTER ONE!' I looked up only to see A Children's Book of Prayers in her hands. After looking at the cover I realized she was indeed talking about.....JESUS!! He is standing behind the children on the cover and embracing them from above. I suppose to a young child it looks like he is creeping up on them and not protecting them! Whatever her thought process, time to start attending mass again!!!

While I am on the topic of books, I was reading the kids one of their million books and stumbled upon a page that labeled items and people on a farm. Next to the clothesline there was a woman hanging up some clothes and next to her was the label housewife. I am not sure why but it struck me as very funny and so 1950's all at the same time! Clearly she could have some other label!!

Hello...me again!!
I have been so preoccupied that I have neglected my blog in the worst possible way! I wish I could blame it on the day to day....minute to minute confusion at mi casa BUT it is because when I get 'computer time' I tend to log on to Facebook and not my blog!! So many things have happened that I wish I documented but my mind is erased with Facebook Facebook Facebook! I am going to make a point of writing on my blog again the next couple weeks and rid myself of my Facebook addiction!
The kids are getting big (as big as kids under 3.5 can get), the dogs are getting hyper with their reduced walks because of the cold weather, the parrot is getting anxious because I need to clip his wings and nails and haven't been letting him have free run of the cage with the door open!
I am over winter and decided yesterday a french pedicure on my toes would remind me of the warm days ahead! Although with the 8 inches of snow coming this evening, it is just reminding me of the white wonderland that will be dumped on us again - no flip flops this weekend!!
Having a 3rd baby has been no transition in the house at all. Some people told me that one to two was horrible (and there was no transition) and others told me that two to three was horrible (and there was still no transition.) The general consensus has been that three to four and beyond is no transition at all because there is already major confusion. I will keep you posted on the three to four and NO - I am not knocked up yet, nor are we trying yet!! The baby is only 3 months!! Give me at least 5 more months!! : )
Until next time...

13 Things I wish I knew before I had my FIRST baby
13 Things I wish I knew before I had my FIRST baby...
1. Diaper pails are overrated - Plastic bags work just fine IF there is poop
2. Baby clothes look a lot bigger off the baby
3. Don't save cute outfits for special occasions because the baby grows very fast
4. DON'T and I repeat DON'T register for any baby blankets because you will get too many anyway
5. You can't decide which 'blankie' your baby likes best - no matter how cute you think it is
6. Your dog(s) will not become dog(s) just because you have a new baby - unless you can't balance
7. Breast feeding is not natural. If you want to do it, be prepared to work at it (the lactation consultant was my best friend with my first)
8. The baby will not bond with the nurses and not you if you put him/her in the nursery for a few hours to get some rest
9. Life goes on at home so enjoy every second at the hospital with people waiting on you and reminding you to do things like take medicine, eat and even go to the bathroom
10. Most husbands are not very comfortable with brand new babies (and if yours is - more power to you)
11. If ever you were modest, having a vaginal delivery will change that FOREVER (I can't speak for C-Sections)
12. Post-delivery uterus contractions hurt like hell - ESPECIALLY when you are nursing the first few days
13. Invest in a nice pack n' play - not a bassinet

Overnight at our house
Last night all was going well until about hmmmm....4am! A appeared at the side of the bed (my side of course) and said she wanted to lay next to me. I was overtired and getting ready to feed the baby so I told her to climb in bed. I was in no mood to fight with a 2 year old.
Anyway, I was nursing the baby toward the center of the bed and A climbed in right next to her (baby in the middle). I decided to nurse the baby on the other side(for safety reasons - after all A is pretty wild. The second and I mean SECOND I moved the baby to the other side, A burrowed her little head into my neck and BARFED!! Yes she barfed all over me, all over her, all over the bed, pillow, etc. She barfed on everything except the baby and R!!
Needless to say, A and I ended up in the shower at 4:15 in the morning. And I will add that it was the most relaxing shower I have had in months, possibly years. I had to wake up R to get A and dry her off so I could scrub barf off my hair in peace! It was the first time nobody was harrassing me through the glass shower door!! P was sleeping, M was sleeping (little belly full), A was being dried off and R wouldn't have the nerve to hurry up a shower in which I was removing barf!! Hey, you take what you can get when you can get it!! : )
And by the way, she was fine today!! Tired from getting up so early but fine...no fever, no barfing, nothing....UNTIL now!! She climbed in my lap while I was typing this and she feels warm! Just in time for her sister's Baptism Sunday!! Did I say something about loving confusion???

Thursday Thirteen
Not sure if you all are members of Facebook but there was a ‘facebook note’ going around about ‘25 Random Things’ this week. I think I got it from 20 people before finally doing it! Shortly after I sent it out and tagged some people (not 25 by the way) a friend commented that nobody is keeping it real so I decided to make a list for Thursday Thirteen.
13 ‘REAL’ Random things about me…
1.My 2 year old just pooped without a diaper on and missed the potty (by two rooms)
2. My dog just pooped in our front room
3. My husband got mad at me and told me to keep the dogs locked up (NEVER – I would lock him up before my dogs)
4. My baby is being ignored because I am online
5. I have not seen a movie in the theater since Jerrry McGuire
6. I can never quite catch up with my laundry
7. I am terrible at planning dinners (but we do manage to eat)
8. I ‘off road’ when I do our grocery shopping at Super Target
9. My car is a mess (until hubby gets in and cleans it up)
10. I am too laid back about a lot of things which tends to annoy my hubby
11. My perfect dogs aren’t so perfect - - one throws up, one marks (and tends to bite) and one has major shedding issues
12. My shepard has her own room which happens to have the nicest mattress in the house (did I mention she is the one with shedding issues?)
13. I won’t plan a vacation because I don’t trust anyone with my dogs (kids would be going with us of course)
