Potty gal

Lia has been going potty in the toilet all day long...she said she had to go potty and I asked (rather stupidly) 'now?' She replied, 'do you want me to pee on you?'

Well said....

Burglar?

We had someone here fixing our dishwasher and the dog had to go out. My momma is over so I took Mattie outside. Turned out she had to poop and she happened to do it right by the man's truck. We lingered there for quite a long time while Mattie took care of business.

When I walked in the front door my momma was looking at me weirdly like she had something to tell me. She asked me what I was doing out there and I told her Mattie had the shits...just kidding, I said diarrhea but the story is dragging a bit. Anyway, before she could explain, the 3 Stooges came barreling around the corner asking me why I was looking in the man's truck. I said I wasn't and P said, 'YES YOU WERE - you were looking in the back of his truck!! The guy was looking at me so I told him I was going to sell his tools on EBay. Didn't help my case that I was headed back outside with my camera to take a picture of Mattie in the snow!

Writing names

We named our first son Pierson. When my dad heard the name for the first time, he said 'what the hell are you doing to that kid? He will never be able to write his name with all those letters.' Coming from someone named 'Joe' he had a very valid point. I laughed and life moved forward.

Fast forward to Pierson's preschool days last year. They were teaching the kids to write their names. One week after my dad died suddenly, we had a scheduled parent conference with the teachers. I really wasn't up for going for obvious reasons but knew we had to keep moving. We were sitting in the conference when the teacher said, 'Pierson is having trouble writing his name!' Immediately thinking of my late dad, I burst out crying and the teachers aide gently touched my arm and said, 'It's okay, he's 4. Several of the kids are struggling with their names!'

The other day, P handed me a piece of paper with his name spelled out across the middle. I was so proud and would have loved to have called my dad and shared the moment. Yipppppeeee Pierson....moving on to the 8 letters in your last name!!! (Dad only had 3 in his last name!)

Naked girl jammies

My two year old asked me if I would put 'naked girl' jammies on her and before I could question what she was talking about, I saw her Little Mermaid jammies. The Little Mermaid is dressed in a little shell bikini and looks 'naked' to a young child used to people in clothes!!

A story only a dog lover will enjoy..

Let me begin this story by explaining that we have a rescue dog named Bernie that is a rat terrier/jack russel mix. He likes to burrow under the covers at night and if you 'stretch' into his space he growls and nips...nips, not bites!!

Anyway, last night as I was putting A to bed, she asked me to move Bernie. He happened to be sleeping in a little sweet ball of pup at the foot of her bed and I told her I would but she was mean for wanting to disturb him. She looked at me and said, 'I am not mean - I just don't like to be bit in the middle of the night!!' Well said my little honey...I moved Bernie!!
