Time to go back...

I am sure most of you remember a few months ago (right after Memorial Day) when I asked P if he wanted to go to church and he got very excited and replied, 'yes, let's go to church! Church is great!' I was so proud of myself that I had brought him a few weeks prior and he actually liked it. Before I had a chance to pat myself on the back, he said, 'church is so fun. That is where they throw candy at me!' So, my excursions to church are a twice yearly thing like the 4th of July and Memorial Day parade!! Fabulous.....

I really need to go back this week.............

The other day, the family and I were driving through town. The radio was on, R and I were babbling away and from the backseat, P said, 'Mommy what is the name of that building to the left?' I named the cleaners, Starbucks, etc. P said 'no, no, no.....the place we went without Daddy!!' I thought about it and asked if he meant church....BINGO......Okay, so we need to go back soon!

I Have Never...

Do any of my cyber-friends remember the drinking came I Have Never? For those that are not familiar with the game....

You sit with friends and someone starts out saying "I Have Never" (insert something you may have done or want to find out if another player has done). If anyone in the group has done this they have to take a drink.

Anyway, now that I have babbled all the above this is not so funny but.......the pictures make it a little more humorous!!

"I have never.............walked down a busy street with a baby pool!!" (See below).

P has been begging for a pool and this evening we bought him a plastic one from Ace down the road. We had one of the employee's tie it to the top of the car....he failed us miserably!! (FYI - We are perfectly aware the pool folds and snaps back into place HOWEVER - two occupied carseats in the back of the truck didn't allow us to utilize that luxury).

Right when we pulled on the super busy road, it flew off the car. R (fabulous Daddy that he is) volunteered himself to walk it home. What else was I left to do but take some pictures for your viewing entertainment?

When I was stuck at the light, some kids next to me said, 'this is something I have never seen before' which made me think of the old drinking game. Anyway, here are the pictures!!

Need a confidence boost? Have a kid....

I woke up this morning to P's sweet voice telling me, "Mommy, you are great and so pretty!" I told him he was great and so pretty too.....He then replied, "I am not so pretty, I am so handsome!!"

Nothing like some confidence floating around the room at 6am!!

Doo-doo-dooo-dooo-doooooo

As most of you know, I was very VERY involved with dog rescue for several years....until I decided to focus on having babies every year. As most of you might not know, I still keep a leash on the driver side door pocket just in case I see a stray. R is not a fan of this and always encourages me to take it out of the car when I am prego so I am not running down the middle of the street trying to catch a dog. When I am in rescue mode, R says doo-doo-dooo-dooo-doooooo and tells me to fasten my cape. Today, I moved so fast that he didn't have a chance to remind me to fasten anything....

It started innocently enough at the gas station. R, the kids and I just pulled up to the pump when out of the corner of my eye, I saw the cutest little Sheltie running down the middle of Waukegan Road (super busy road - think Frogger - for those out of town readers). In no time flat, I was out of the car, leash in hand trying to catch the little guy. Lucky for him (and maybe Baby Bow too), he turned to a side street and ran. There were three other people trying to rescue him and one lady offered for me to get into her car. She looked nice enough so I jumped in her car, fastened my seat belt and off we went to rescue a dog. (Keep in mind, R and the kids were sitting at the gas station pump and I had no cell phone with me)!
* Disclaimer - under no circumstances is it ever safe to get into a stranger's car.

Once we got to the end of the side street, we noticed several other people trying to catch the little fellow. Long story short, we all came together and rescued the pup whose name happened to be Simon for those of you that care.

I asked the stranger if I could get a ride back down the side street (hey - it was a long street and she didn't hurt me the first time). She said she would drop me off at the gas station. When we pulled in, she asked me which car it was....I told her the one with the husband in the front that looked really annoyed and had the hot kids in the backseat!!! She and I got a good laugh.....R not so much but he came around....he always does!!!!

My safe place

Baby Bow, whose name will be Maylia, has been super active the last couple days!! Needless to say, so have P and A! I can't believe P is still technically 2 and we are knocked up with the third!! Just how we planned we were going to build our family since meeting in 95...I figured after almost one decade of courting before marriage, we would be dragging our feet on babies too!! Not the case....

I love being a mom and would have half a dozen kids if my significant other (husband, sperm donor, roommate, etc.) did not put a halt on baby-making after four. All I can do now is pray for twins the next time around to score an exta one!!

ANYWAY, this morning was very trying. Work is my safe place today. My sanctuary. Now that I am snug at my desk, I can type my posting in peace!! I was up very late gabbing with my good friend and folding laundry only to wake up at 5:45 this morning so I could take a shower in peace before waking the crew, getting them ready and heading to work. PEACE my ass (excuse the language)!! P woke up with vengeance!! He was in rare form this morning. Nothing like a good whine outside my shower door. He whined all the way to Nonie's house and like magic once we walked through the magical doors...the spell was reversed! He was super happy and back to himself!!

Thank goodness for Nonie days were I can go to work and rejuvenate as a mommy!!

20 week ultrasound

A message from the kids...

Today was our 5 month ultrasound and everything is looking fabulous!! We are very happy and feel very blessed. We are praying the next 20 weeks go as smoothly and easily as the first! As the kids announced, Beau is now BOW!! She is officially a girl!! I will be referring to her as a she from now on - - she is no longer a he. She will also be Bow and not Beau!!

We are so excited!! I have to admit, I would have been shocked if they said it was a boy...needless to say, we could have cared less the gender of this baby! We are just so excited to be expanding our family!!!

For our friends and family out of state or who drink too much (kidding), we want to keep a guest room in the house. We are now starting the process of rearranging and painting the 'girls' room and redecorating P's room! By starting the process I mean discussing paint color.

Please keep Bow in your prayers as she continues to grow and develop the last half of her journey in the uterus.

Happy 4th of July!!

Happy 4th to all of you!! As most of my regular blog readers know, the 4th is one of my FAVORITE holidays - right up there with Christmas! I have always loved the 4th because the traditions that have developed over the years. We all gather at my mom and dad's house, go to the two hour parade (all 26 of us) then go home for a party! The parties of the past have been very big, very busy and very fun!!

This year since mom and dad are in the process of packing up the house and moving north, we all headed to Shillary's house! While it was just our family, we managed to still make it very big, very busy and very fun!! The party part of the 4th of July tradition has been passed to Shillary. We will still be on the same corner for the parade, making the same noise and laughing at the same crap!! Oh how I love the 4th of July!!

Pictures to follow....
