One more video....
I have one more video but Dad didn't even know I had the camera rolling. Every time he looks up at me, it breaks my heart.
Baby Beau and Popsie loved to sing and dance with the decoration Christmas tree! Every single time we were there, she would run it over to him and they would sit for hours! When we went to help them put the Christmas stuff down, Baby Beau and Popsie could hardly bring themselves to put the singing tree away for the year. I NEVER imagined this would be the last Christmas Daddy/Popsie would be with us!!
At the very end of the tape, he asked where R is tonight...he was working and we all went back the next day! Anyway, very sweet and very sad!! I miss you Daddy - I really miss you!!!

Welcome to my new life....
I just got back from church and with some few extra prayers, I got through the 'Our Father' with one lone tear dripping down my check...That my friends is a HUGE accomplishment these days!! I got home, opened the drawer looking for some paperwork I needed and found my old camera. I turned it on to see if there were any pictures and low and behold...BIGGEST MELTDOWN OF ALL!! There were 23 pictures and a few videos of Popsie with the baby from early December. Who knew when I took those pictures and videos that they would rip out my heart and mercilessly throw it on the ground, yet fill me with such happiness at the same time, when I looked at them less than 90 days later?
My most treasured video...

Family pics...this may be a heartbreakers for some!!
Every morning at the 'non-farm' Baby Beau walks over to the family picture, stares at it and points to Popsie. She does this all by herself!!!
So sweet and the only way I can keep his 'physical' memory alive in my 15 month old baby!! For those that haven't lost a loved one and for those that have and don't take pictures, snap away like I did and still do.
There may be a time you need them to help your children remember the dear people and times in your lives that they were too young (or not yet here) to remember!!

Not complaing but...
The kids and I slept at Nonie's last night and I ran out of contact solution. Not learning my lesson about 'extra' contacts last week, I figured they were on the 2 week mark and threw them away.
This morning, I woke up and put on my glasses. They were a little off balance so I (gently) adjusted them.....one side of the frame snapped in half!!!

Here I sit blind as a bat with no contacts or glasses. The difference from my last contact/glasses complaining post is that I won't comment about hoping this is the worst thing that happens to me this week....clearly I wasn't even thinking how bad it would get last time. I am not challenging the universe with a duel about how bad life can get...trust me, I get it now! This is the small stuff. I actually welcome this small problem that I can figure out without heartache, pain and suffering.
On the bright side, I can keep one eye closed all the way home and everyone will think I am winking at them OR they'll think I am wacky and that I shouldn't be on the road....I will welcome whatever they may think!!!
This time I know....mums the word but I had to tell my cyber-readers.
I am hot......Kidding!!

The 13 great things about Daddy/Popsie....
I realized while we gathered around dad while he took his last breath on earth, what really mattered in life. I always suspected it but it was confirmed. The money in your pocket is irrelevant but the seeds you plant and grow....priceless!!! My dad was an amazing person with a kind heart and a gentle soul. In remembrance of this fine man, I would like to present the 13 great things about Daddy/Popsie....

1. Great story-teller - Dad could tell a story. There was always truth in the stories but sometimes the tales grew taller along the way.
2. Great fisherman - Wow could that man fish! Give him a pole and some worms/minnows and we wouldn't see him for hours. He had some very special fishing buddies too!! Of course his grandkids but some adults too! He became very good friends with his dentist and his highlight of his fishing days were spent with him. If anyone needs a good dentist in Northbrook, let me know!!
3. Loyal - He was part of the old school loyalty club. Something us forty, thirty and twenty-somethings just don't understand but respect and wish we could be a part.
4. Forgiving - Dad could always forgive and forget - but believe me, he would tell you what was on his mind!!
5. Funny - Wooo-weee, could he have us laughing. Whether or not he was teasing us or telling a story, he always made us smile.
6. Helpful - He would stop and help anyone in need ANYONE!!!
7. Strong - He always amazed me how he kept going and going. He didn't let me down in the end either - amazing how he kept about his business until his last day on earth!
8. Handy - My daddy could fix ANYTHING!! He could fix anything and not just half-ass, he fixed it right!!
9. Protective - He protected those around him - family, friends and those that he didn't even know that couldn't protect themselves.
10. Kind to animals - He taught us all to love animals. He never turned down anything we dragged in the front door and he dragged some in himself!!
11. Good role-model - Need I even elaborate on this??
12. Great singer - Since I was a little girl, you would say a word or be talking about something and he would start belting out a tune.
13. Great husband/dad/popsie - You have seen the pictures and read the stories!! Daddy, Popsie.....we will forever miss you but you will FOREVER be in our hearts!!!!
