My photo made the paper

As most of you know I love to write. I am still writing my book but have been slacking the last several months. I also love photography. My sister and I finally put our plans into action and started a photography business. We surprisingly have a lot of bookings and are looking forward to marketing and growing our business.

As some of you may remember, last forth of July my baby and I made the paper. This year, my photo made the paper...an actual photo I took. This was very exciting to me. I sent it to the editor and when he called back he told me that he loved the photo and was definitely going to use it in the paper. He said he generally saves the pictures for the staff photographers but he liked the picture very much.

A man that was part of the parade, got out of the car to greet a man that was watching the parade. I could tell the man watching the parade was from World War II so I snapped the picture while they shook hands. Anyway, turns out, the man doing the shaking served in Vietnam War and my assumption was right, the man watching the parade is a World War II veteran. His wife is looking up so proudly and his daughter is standing behind them and looking so happy to be a part of it all.

Going to bed

A was going to bed and as usual, she was babbling. She had two stuffed animals in her hand and said, 'my kids are annoying...not my dogs!!'

...Well said honey...no offense!!

P's dream

One morning P woke up at Nonie's house and declared he had a dream about Popsie last night. He thought it was so real that he had to get up and peek outside the bedroom door to see if Popsie was back home with us. I asked him what he dreamt about and P said he asked Popsie to fix something for him. He told me that Popsie told him that he couldn't fix things anymore! Then P told me that Popsie showed him how to fix the toy.

I am no dream analyst or child psychologist HOWEVER, I believe that is a way deeper level of the understanding of death than an (almost) 5 year could muster up. I really believe in my heart that my dad did come visit his little friend.

A promise to me, myself and I

I used to get lots of emails and calls from people about my blog and how it made them laugh, cry, whatever...then came Facebook!! Something funny happens and as I said in my previous post, I tend to think FACEBOOK MOMENT rather than BLOG MOMENT! No longer, forget the status updates that go away and are forgotten. The only plus is all the instant responses I get from Facebook. Anyway, I love looking back on the last three years and my blog has turned into a family diary...a very public family diary!

With that said....

This morning I was listening to A play with her dolls and she was pretended a playdate was coming over and she asked me to dress her baby before they got out of their car to come inside - active imagination. Anyway, I went back to the kitchen to clean up and I heard her playing. She was apparently pretending to talk to the mom that was over for a playdate because she said, 'My husband yelled at my dogs once...and now I don't have a husband. I got rid of him!!'

That's my girl, animals come first!!

Neglected

I have been neglecting my blog for some reason...probably FB consuming my 'blog' time once again. I used to view the world with blog goggles but now I am seeing things through the eyes of FB status updates! Things happen that are funny and I think....FB Status....instead of BLOG!! I am trying to retrain my brain...

Speaking of retraining my brain, I am attempting to cook meals every night. So far so good. I was slipping out of the cooking routine but here I am...cooking! Yeah me!!

ALSO...I have been working out again!! I am so happy to be back in the gym, breaking a sweat! I move all day long - chasing kids, walking dogs and cleaning but breaking a sweat for my own good, without kids, beats any other calorie burner!!

So, with that said, I will blog later but for now, I am out of here! I have kids to unwind so they go to sleep while the sun is still up....I LOVE summer!!
